First Cold Front of the Season...

And someone is none too happy about it.

I finally relented and turned on the heat because the house was a "freezing" 67 degrees. Yes, we are wimps...and we are totally ok with that.

It's me and the dog - a la Dorothy and Toto but known on this blog as Ana and Martha - chronicling our journey down the yellow brick road.

I have the sense of humor of a twelve year old boy, the emotional maturity of a nineteen year old, the personal style of a twenty-something, and a birth certificate stating that I was born in the seventies.

Although named after a John Denver song (Annie’s Song, for those who are curious), I was raised to be a brief case - carrying -career - girl with good benefits. Personally, I prefer campfires to boardrooms and after many journeys now work from home doing freelance.

There’s this joy you get from working in a t-shirt and flips with the Grateful Dead blaring in the background and the dog at your feet that can’t quite be replicated in corporate America – no matter how much they pay you.

Long-time Austinite, but Houston is my home. (You can read about why I moved to Houston in my first post.) This city is amazing, and I’ve made and reconnected with some really great friends here.

Wherever the rainbow ends for me, it probably won't be ultra-conventional. Oz can be a little chaotic and overindulgent at times, but Kansas is the place that would really kill me. That being said, a little convention doesn't hurt every now and again.

One day I'm going to save the world, but my friends and I are still working out the details, usually over drinks and live music.
Sometimes that gets a little out of hand...

...which is why I'd like to note that sometimes I make this stuff up, sometimes I don't, and I refuse to back any of you up on its authenticity.
